The Last Christmas Card!

This is the card I gave to the Nurse Practioner that I work with everyday.  This is my masterpiece of the season!  A little bit of everything going on with this card.  The snowlady was stamped on watercolor paper with black stazon and watercolor with my SU Classic Inks.  The snow at the bottom is called Snow-Tex and I sprinkled MS Crystal Coarse Glitter onto it while it was still wet.  The candy cane was stamped with black stazon onto Whisper White cardstock.  I filled it in with Stickles Glitter Glue and cut it out when it was dry.  The shimmer effect was created by using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  I mixed it with rubbing alcohol and put it in a spray bottle.  The alcohol dries faster and the cardstock does not warp from getting wet!  The faux fur on the Snowlady was achieved by using Polar White Flowersoft.

Happy Halloween Watercoloring

Hello Everyone!

Lovely day in Central Illinois, the sun is shining today!  The last two days we had constant rain and gloomy, yuck!  This is my favorite technique, watercoloring with dye ink.  It's like using Copics but without the expense.  I smooch the ink onto the top lid of my SU ink pad add a little water and I can control the intensity!  A little sponging around the edges and some extra leaves for dimension.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by :-)

Stamps:  Serendipity - Happy Jack & Leaf Pets
Paper:  Watercolor, Basic Black and Assorted Scraps
Ink:  Versamark, Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Creamy Carmel, Choc. Chip, Ruby Red, Old Olive

Halloween "Side Step" Card

I found this wonderful tutorial on my Fabulous Upline's Blog Julie Davison for the "Side Step" Card.
I love the House of Haunts Stamp Set and thought it would look awesome on the Side Step.
The House and the Owl in the tree were stamped with Versamark added Black Embossing Powder and heated.  On the Owl I used a 1" Circle punch on a post it note to make a mask for the moon.
I used a 1 3/8 inch mask for the moon on the house.  I then brayered both with Summer Sun.
Leaving the mask on the Owl I sponged around the edges first with Pumpkin Pie (used Sponge Daubers),
Creamy Carmel.  Did the same with the House but added Chocolate Chip as my last layer.  Once
everything was sponged I removed the post-it notes and layered onto Only Orange Cardstock.
Pumpkins are stamped with Only Orange onto Summer Sun cardstock.  Happy Halloween was
stamped with Versamark and White Embossing Powder.  The finishing touch is the Spider from
Autumn Apparitions.  Stamped in Versamark and Black EP then punched out with the 1/2" circle
punch and applied to a Build-A-Brad.  I really had fun making this card!
Thanks for taking time out of your busy life to visit my blog.
Have a great weekend   :-)

Saturday Stamp Class at our Local Stamp Store!

Awesome Class today at Prairie Art Stamps & Supplies in Springfield, Illinois.  The Class was given by the Wonderful Wendy Vecchi!  She is a demo artist for Ranger Industries, she designs her own line of stamps "Studio 490" and she is on the Design Team for Maya Road and tim holtz-idea-ology.  This project uses Wendy's Studio 490 stamps and tim holtz Grunge Board & Paper, Distress Ink & Stickles.  Yes, that rose is made out of paper!  What a fun class, I love learning new techniques.  Due to Stampin' Ups new Demonstrator Agreement this will probably be the last time I can share info about other companies products.  I will be able to show you what I have done but cannot share product info because I am a Demonstrator.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping by  :-)

Winter Post

Hello Everyone!  Just trying to use up some scraps as I hate to see paper go to waste when it is so beautiful!
I was going for the "Vintage" look and I really like the stamp from the Hostess Set - Christmas Punch as it has that vintage flair.  The base of the card is Kraft and I sponged Close to Cocoa along the edges as I did with all the paper on this card.  I used Versamark and stamped some snowflakes on the inside.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by :-)

Wandering Words meets Autumn Days

I wanted to make a very colorful card with fall colors. I got my inspiration from Stampin' Up's! Designer Series Paper "Autumn Traditions." I started out with Kraft cardstock and randomly stamped the leaves in different colors and since I just had to try out this new stamp I thought I might has well use my markers and do the leaves on the stamp in different colors. I really love how this card turned out, may have to make another one.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by :-)

Thank you card using Outline Stickers.

Hi, just wanted to try these stickers that I received as a gift. They are outline stickers that come in various designs. Thought they would look cute on a 3x3 card as they are just the right size.
I placed the sticker onto Very Vanilla and then painted the flowers with Twinkling H2O's (shimmery watercolors) because I like shimmer & sparkle! I used the 1 1/2 inch circle punch to cut it out and layered onto the Bermuda Bay Scallop. A little ribbon and a white gel pen to put some dots on the scallop. I really like how this turned out, I may have to make some more.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Loving the weather here in Illinois, in the 70's, gotta love that global warming! Thanks for stopping by :-)

Fabulous Friend Birthday

My Fabulous Friend Laurie will be celebrating her birthday on Monday and this is the card I made for her. She loves "Orange" shades of orange and Cats. So with that in mind, I chose
"A Kind Word" stamp set. I stamped the image with Black Stazon onto watercolor paper. I then water colored the image with water and ink smooched onto the lid of the pad. I start with the lightest color and work my way up to the darker colors. I painted around her in Bashful Blue to give the image some depth. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
As always..... thank you for taking time to stop by my blog :-)

A Dashing Christmas

I received my Holiday Mini pre-order and just had to use some of the "new" Designer Series Paper Christmas Cocoa! I started with a scrap piece of whisper white cut at 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
I cut the DSP the same size and adhered it to the Whisper White and then ran it through the Big Shot. This makes it a lot easier to tie the ribbon! Dasher was stamped with Versamark and then applied Heat & Stick Powder, heated until melted and then I used the Chocolate Fine Super Nova Glitter and re-heated. Sentiment stamped with Real Red onto Shimmery White Cardstock and layered onto Real Red using the Word Window and Modern Label Punches. Hope everyone is having a great week.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Simply Scrappin' Christmas

I do more card making than scrap booking so I never got the Simply Scrappin' Kits until last year. This paper and die cuts are from last years Simply Scrappin Kit - I Wish. I had a couple of die cuts left over so I thought I would put them to good use. I started with Kraft paper for card base 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I Wish DSP cut at 4 x 5.25 inches as the background. Photo corners punched out from I Wish DSP and Chocolate Chip. I used a 2-Way Glue Pen and added some Dazzling Diamonds to the ornaments and tied gold elastic cord on the tops. Used Dimensionals to pop them up off the page. Stamped my sentiment layered with scallop oval. These die cuts make card making easy. Check out this years Simply Scrappin' Kit - Christmas Jingle!
This Kit coordinates with the Tree Trimmings Stamp Set.

I am loving the new Curtain Call Color Challenge at Stacey's Stamping Stage! I must give her a "Great Big Congratulations" for her accomplishments. Rising Star #13 at Convention this past week. How exciting! This beautiful towel set reminded me of the Fresh Cuts stamp set and thought it would look great on the Fresh Cuts Note Cards. Add a Button from Button Latte with a little bit of crochet thread and the Bravo Burgundy as a background and this makes for an easy thank you card.

Stacey's Stamping Stage unveiled a new look and a new Color Challenge and I just had to participate! Love the colors and the bedding so I thought I would recreate my own version.
I started with a Whisper White base then using the Sizzlets Little Leaves Die I cut out Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy leaves. I put the Not Quite Navy leaves down first using Tombo Multi-Mono adhesive then I put the Night of Navy just off center of the Not Quite Navy Leaves.

Autumn Days

Hello Everyone,

Bet you thought I fell off the face of the Earth, not quite but it felt like it! I'm so ready for fall so I can slow down (who am I kidding) LOL! This is a card I did for my Stamp Club. I wanted to show them embossing and how to tie a ribbon. Ribbon takes practice but once you get it you're good! I also wanted to let them try our new "In Colors" they are fabulous as always. They also got a chance to try the new Modern Label Punch. The wheat was stamped in Versamark and applied White Embossing Powder set with heat tool.
Thank you to everyone who leaves lovely comments :-)

Thoughts & Prayers with the "New In Colors"

Our monthly downline meeting was this week and this is the card I made for the swap. My upline is Julie Davison and you can get some inspiration from her blog at Julie's Stamping Spot!
I am in love with the Rich Razzleberry and just had to use it :-) The butterfly is from the Great Friend Stamp set and I use it a lot! I first stamped the image in Versamark and then into Crushed Curry onto Whisper White cardstock. Added Iridescent Ice embossing powder and then heat set to give it some bling. Yes, and did you notice I colored the flowers with the New In Color MARKERS? That's right, SU made In Color Markers this year, doin' a happy dance ;-D
The In color ribbon is reversible, no polka dots on the other side, too cool.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Butterfly Bookmark

Hello Everyone,
I was at Barnes & Nobles one evening checking out the books that were on sale when I came upon this cool bookmark. They wanted $5.00 for this bookmark so, I slipped it out of it's holder to see what was so expensive. It was just paper and magnets! I thought, "Gee, I could make my own!" So I did. I started out with Baja Breeze cut at 2.5 inches x 8 inches and scored at 4 inches. The Parisian Breeze is cut at 2.25 inches x 3.75 inches I cut two one for front and back. I only stamped on the front. To give the butterfly a little dimension I decided to emboss with clear embossing powder. First I inked the butterfly stamp with Versamark and then into Chocolate Chip, applied Clear EP and heat set. Used the Round Tab punch for the top and used sticky strip to apply for added strength. The magnets I found at Hobby Lobby.
Thanks for stopping by and all the nice comments :-)

I saw this in the Stampin' Success Magazine and just had to try it. What a quick and easy way to make a card. Stamp image on the paper with Versamark and emboss with White EP. It looks better IRL (in real life)! The size of this card is 3x3.

Graduation Card for my Friend!

My friend Crystal received her MBA at graduation last Saturday and this is the card I made for her. I purchased the cap & gown at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook section, I just could not resist! I also found this paper and Crystal likes browns, plus the fact that there is glitter in the flowers was an added bonus. Graduation was awesome and afterwards we were also invited to dinner. Crystal made mention out of the blue one day that she wanted a Wii, so we got her one! She said, "You guy's, a Wii!!!" But that's not all, during desert her boyfriend Dave proposed to her! What an awesome day.

Jewelry Color Inspiration #36 & Mojo Monday #86

Hello Everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posting, last week they found a superficial blood clot in my right leg. I was laid up for a couple of days and on antibiotics, elevate leg, heating pad, daily aspirin. Doing much better, pain is gone but there is still a lump in my leg. On to stamping...
I love the color combo that Stacey has this week and I thought I would give Mojo Monday Sketch a try also. I used the "Watercolor Technique" that I learned from Patty Bennett you should check it out, it's an awesome video tutorial.
I used the heart stamp from the "Always" stamp set and used Versamark on Shimmery White cardstock and used white embossing powder. I then sprayed the paper with water until the water was standing and then I picked up the reinker colors with the aqua painter and applied to the heart. I love the tie dye effect. The butterflies are from the "Priceless" stamp set. I first inked the stamp with Versamark then into Tempting Turquoise and stamped onto Whisper White and applied Heat & Stick powder heated and applied Dazzling Diamonds. Did the same with the Lavender Lace butterfly. I like this technique to use the classic ink and versamark together. TIP: I have two Versamark pads, one for this technique (as sometimes ink gets on the Versamark pad) & another one just for Versamark use only.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Mother's Day Rose

I have seen this rose all over cyberspace,
I did not come across the tutorial until after I had
already finished my rose. See "Patty's Stamping
Spot" for an awesome video tutorial.
I used shimmery white cardstock, versamark and white embossing powder. Then I mixed Pink Pirouette with Rubbing alcohol and diluted it to make a light shade of Pink. Next I mixed Barely Banana with the alcohol and did the inside of the petals. Went back over it again with the Pink Pirouette on the edges. Patty's Tutorial makes this so much easier but I thought mine turned out okay.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Top Note Quilting ~ KWerner CI #50

Kristina Werner is having her 50th Color Inspiration Challenge!
Go check out her blog for all the awesome prizes for the winners of this challenge.
I really liked the first Top Note Quilt Card I did so I thought I would use up some scraps of DSP and try a different quilt pattern. I started with a 4.5" x 5.5" Whisper White card stock. I centered a 1" square on the whisper white tilted as a diamond. I cut 1" strips of paper and then I lined up the first strip to go along side the diamond and across the card and kept going around. Once the card was full, I trimmed off the edges that were overhanging. I then cut it out with the Top Note Die. I ran it through a second time using the Diamond Texturze Plate to give it a quilted look.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, So Saffron
