Holiday Peace

Here is another card I made using the To You & Yours stamp set.  The snowflake looks glittery because I used Whisper White and embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP and then used my Snowflake Punch.  Hard to photograph the glitter pen that I used on the Dove's tail, it looks better in real life!  Very easy card to make using only two colors.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Cindy

To You & Yours

I made six of these cards, very easy.  Pretty much assembly line once everything is cut and stamped.  I am loving this hot weather, to hot to go out so might as well stay in and stamp something for the cool season to come :-)

Post-it Note Holder with Border!

Earlier this week I posted the Post-it Note Holders found HERE.  I changed the instructions just a bit to add the Eyelet Border.  The original length of the Cover 3 1/16" x 8 1/2".  I made mine 3 1/16" x 9".
I like this much better, very feminine.

Season of Joy Part 2

Just had to do another one because I still had some paper left :-)  This design is simple and easy to recreate for mass production.  Not sure who makes the Snowflake brad, I got a grab bag gift and these were inside. It's hard to see in the photo, but I used Versamark on it and then added Iridescent Ice embossing powder and set it with the Heat Tool.  I know everyone probably thinks I am nuts for starting already, but Christmas is only "5" months away!

Season of Joy with Glitter!

Yes, a little Christmas in July :-)  When it's hot, think cool and go stamp some Christmas cards!
The DSP is over 3 years old and I don't remember the name but it came from Stampin' Up!  I have a hard time parting with paper sometimes.  My other addiction, not being able to give up any of my Christmas stamps!!!  The Merry Christmas sentiment came from the 2007 Holiday Mini - Tags On Board.  It works perfectly with the oval & scallop oval punches.  The tree was stamped with Versamark and then added some Heat & Stick Powder heated with heat tool and then applied the Fine Cosmo Glitter Celery and reheated and Fine Galaxy Glitter Gold for the star.

Post-it Note Holders

I have been working on gifts for Christmas already.  I found the instructions for these at Crafts by Beth!
These will make a great gift for the Receptions that work on our floor.  I am also going to include the Pentel R.S.V.P. pen with matching DSP to go along with it.  These are so easy to make and they are soo cute!  The shimmer on the paper is from Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, I love this paint :-)

Of The Earth

I made this card before the new SU Idea Book and Catalog came out!  I did however know that
Baja Breeze would be returning so that was my color of choice and it looks great with Chocolate Chip.
I teamed those colors up with Crumb Cake and leftover Pariasian Breeze DSP (retired) and Chocolate Chip Polka Dot Satin Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week,

Cindy

Bargello Top Note with Frayed Ribbon Flower

What is Bargello?  Bargello is a form of embroidery that is created through a series of upright flat stitches laid out in interesting patterns.  This technique was in the June 2010 Stampin' Success magazine and I just had to try it.  I cut strips of striped DSP (stripes work best) in varying widths, 1/8, 1/4 & 1/2 inches.  I used a piece Whisper White cardstock for the base cut at 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  Align colors into desired pattern and adhere to the cardstock and then I ran it through the Big Shot.
The ribbon is cut at 6 inches and then used linen thread and did a running stitch along one edge.  Once that was done I straightened out the ribbon and on the opposite side of the thread I sniped 1/8th inch clips down the ribbon.  Once that was done I pulled it together to form a circle and tied the thread and added the brad.  Very easy.

Because I Care - Thank you!

I finally got a chance to break out this stamp set :-)  I was inspired by these photos that I found on Patty Bennett's Blog!  In order to get the color I wanted I broke out the Watercolor paper and watercolored with SU Classic Ink.  I started with Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink & Bashful Blue.  I then added some Pretty in Pink in the Bashful Blue to give it a little lavender color as in the photos.  Leaves were done in Wild Wasabi & Daffodil Delight.  The image looked a little flat to me so I added some White Gel Pen on the edges of the flowers, this gave it a little more depth.  It is hard to see in the photo, but I added a little bling to the flower with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  I already have it mixed in a mister with rubbing alcohol so I dipped my paint brush into it and then lightly applied to my flower.  I kept the card simple as I wanted the flower to be the main attraction.  If you click on the photo it will enlarge and you can see the shimmer.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by,
Cindy

Cheep Talk Thank You in Baja Breeze!

I finally got this stamp set.  I was hoping it would be Clear Mount when the new catalog came out but it was not, darn!  I am loving the Clear Mount stamp sets as they take up less room and.....I'm not killing a tree by using wood mount!  Baja Breeze is back and I am soo glad because it was one of my favorite In Colors.  I broke out some retired SU felt flowers and DSP Parisian Breeze to make this card.

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

I am on a roll this week, I think I got my Mojo back!  It's been missing and "WOW" I hate when that  happens!  I really am having a hard time getting rid of the Retired Colors so I thought I would just use up what I have and sell my cards at work.  They are always bugging me for cards anyway :-)
This layout is a version of the "Easy Thank You Card" I posted earlier but added a couple of extras, the scalloped edge and the butterfly.

Elements of Style with Thoughts & Prayers

A lady at work lost her brother-in -law and she asked me to make a Sympathy Card for her sister so I decided to use Elements of Style with the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.  I wanted to use up some of my Almost Amethyst so I paired it with Elegant Eggplant.  I stamped the flowers with Stazon and then used a blender pen and Classic Ink to acheive the look I wanted.  I started with Pale Plum, then some Elegant Eggplant and a touch of Almost Amethyst to give it a slight blue tint.  The centers of the flowers were done in Barely Banana  The leaves and stems were done in Certainly Celery, Barely Banana and Garden Green.
I am really loving this stamp set, it has so many possibilities!

Masculine Birthday

Hello Everyone,
Here is the card I made for my Dad this year, his birthday was Saturday.
Using of scraps of retired SU DSP to make this card.  With the new book out, a lot is retired.  But that's okay, cause I love the new changes they have made with the color!!!
I found the directions for the Origami Shirt HERE only I used a 4" x 5.5" piece of paper so the shirt would fit on the card.  Very easy to make but practice on some copy paper first it's easier and you don't ruin your good paper.  I used my Mat Pack paper piercing template to align the holes for my brads.
My card was looking a bit boring so thought I would cut some slits in the paper and run some Soft Suede ribbon though them.  I find masculine cards to be a challenge but I do really like this one for once :-)

Thanks for stopping by,
Cindy

~Corner Bookmark~

I watched a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers the other day on how to make a Corner Bookmark.  When I watched her make the score lines in the video I thought the Sizzix Bigz Die "Petal Card" (retired) would work great and it would already be scored for me!  I needed a quick going away gift for a girl at work and this is what I made for her.  I used Certainly Celery textured cardstock to make the main frame of the bookmark 4"x4".  Lined up the tip of the 4x4 cardstock onto the tip of the Petal Card die so it only covered two of the score lines that I needed.  I used some Razzleberry Lemonade DSP cut at 2.5"x2.5" and adheard to the center before adhering the petals together.  The flower is made with Vellum Cardstock with the 5-Petal Flower Punch (3) then added the Flower Brad.  Next I cut a 3"x 3" square of So Saffron using the Scallop Corner and Border Punch.  Punch corner first then finish with the border.  I wanted to add this backing so I could adhere the ribbon to the back with Sticky Strip and not be showing!  I then used the Butterfly stamp from the Great Friend stamp set.  Using smooth Certainly Celery cardstock, I stamped 2 butterflies with Versamark and then used Iridescent Ice Embossing powder and cut them out.  I then added a yellow brad to both for a little weight and sandwiched them together with the ribbon with Sticky Strip.
This was fun and easy to make!

Everyone have a fun and safe 4th of July, celebrate your freedom and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live free!
